Surface, site and line
Clynt White makes site-specific public artwork in concrete, stone and line. The work pairs quarried stone with cast concrete and precise machined metal, drawing flowing linear patterns that read the ground of each setting. Projects such as Ground Currents, Stone Through Line and Circular Field set carved stone on inlaid concrete fields and perforated metal, so each piece is built for the place it sits in rather than dropped onto it. Every commission begins on site, reading the light, the surface and the surrounding lines before the first mark is cut.
